After a couple of below par performances in the last of the
pre-season friendlies the mood in the changing room was very positive as the
lads looked forward to the first game of the season and playing competitive
football again. After going a full season unbeaten at home last year the aim was
to make the West Glebe a fortress again and get off to a winning start in the
Reserves Prem Division.
The half time lead was well deserved and made the team talk
very enjoyable. The second half continued in the same vein and Trim netted again
to make it 3.0. We then tailed off a little as legs started to tire, as expected
in the first game of the season. This gave us a chance to use all 3 subs though
and although Blisworth got a late consolation goal, it was a very comfortable
victory in the end.
Thanks to 1st team regulars, Craig McShannon,
Stevie Ennis and Richard Chwazcza for helping out and congratulations to all the
lads for hitting the ground running again.
