12 November 2011:
Northants Combination Reserve Premier League
Blisworth Reserves 1
Daniel S x 2, Rob A, Chris
H, Simo
Pegasus got back to winning
ways with a good all round team performance in this thoroughly deserved win. On
a very bumpy pitch both teams to their credit tried to keep the ball on the
floor as much as possible. It was a very even start to the game however you just
felt that Pegasus had more of a threat about them when going forward.
It was from a slick passing move that Pegasus opened the scoring, the
ball eventually being played into the path of Simo whom you just knew it would
end up in the back of the net. From this point Pegasus really got on top of the
game and by half-time they were three to the good, with Daniel S scoring after
another slick passing move and Chris H dispatching a cracking 30 yarder
fee-kick. It could have been much worse for Blisworth as their centre-back was
lucky not to be sent after pulling and then kicking Simo to the ground when he
was through on goal.
Pegasus management had an
easy team talk at half-time, more of the same please. It was a great start to
the second half for Pegasus as after only a matter of minutes another slick
passing move down Pegasus left ended with Daniel S smashing the ball high into
the roof of the net from just inside the area. Pegasus 5th had an
element of luck about it as a speculative cross into the area from Rob A sailed
high over the keeper and ended up going into the far top corner. Blisworth, to
their credit continued to try to keep playing passing football and they were
rewarded after their own slice of luck, the ball deflected to their forward in
the Pegasus area and he gave Hugo no chance.
Pegasus could and should
have gone on to score more. A blatant penalty was not given and Doco through on
goal one to one with the keeper handling the ball outside his area just a couple
of examples of the opportunities to add to their tally.
So a good team display by
Pegasus, with the added bonus that Doco is back at the club after his travels.
It is also pleasing to see the goals shared around, showing that they are not
reliant on one player. Well done lads.

Man of Match:
This was a difficult one as it was such a
good team performance. However due to the fact that he has been away for over a
year, his first game in that time, he lasted the 90 minutes, still looked strong
at the end and showed he still has the touches then it goes to Doco.
