Brixworth Reserves 1 Pegasus Reserves 2 (Derek. Simmo)  â€“ 18/02/12

With no 1^st team game we had the luxury of strengthening the squad and Simmo and Stevie Innes joined us for the day.

This was the day we tried the now famous 3 3 3 1 formation and the result was never in doubt…….

Seriously though we knew this would be a tough game against a physical team and also one of the fittest teams in the league.

1st half we struggled a little with Brixworth shooting downhill and putting us under pressure for large periods. Although this was not unexpected we got a little bit over stressed about it and it did affect our performance.

2^nd half was much better, Derek equalised early on and we continued to create chances through out the half. However with 5 minutes left it looked as if it wasn’t going to be our day. However Simmo kept on plugging away and finally got his reward and hit the winner for us with a late strike.

A great win for us at a tough place to play.

Man of match – Trim (great team play in unfamiliar left wing back position….in the end the young winger he was up against just gave up trying to get past him)
