Harpole Reserves 3
Pegasus Reserves 3 (Chwaz 2 Hurling) – 22/10/11 Match Report by Gally
We continued our tough run of away fixtures with a trip to
Harpole.  With a new 3.5.2 formation
Peg started the game brightly and took an early lead when Chwaz scored following
a lovely pass from Danny Stratford. On a large pitch we struggled a little to
come to terms with the new formation and following a break down the Harpole left
hand side they equalised as Mark Sinclair converted a cross into his own goal.
The rest of the half was pretty even but following a
mistake from the Harpole defence Chwaz made it 2.1 and Chris Hurling scored
quickly afterwards to make it 3.1 at half time.
We knew the 2nd half would be tough, as Harpole
were shooting downhill and the strong sun was making it tough for the keeper and
defence to see the ball. Although we warned against giving silly free kicks and
throw ins away we seemed incapable of doing this and after a succession of long
throws and corners Harpole scored twice quickly to level the score.
At this point Harpole were the stronger side and looked the
more likely to take all 3 points. However when there centre forward was sent off
with about 7 minutes remaining, Peg upped there game, finally started passing
the ball again and had a couple of late chances to win.
So in summary a tough game against a strong Harpole and in
the end  it could prove to be a
decent point.
