Pegasus got back to action after the surprise “Winter Break” and started the game brightly against their second placed opponents Brixworth.  In a fairly even first half Pegasus had much more of the possession and created one or two half chances, before a fine run and cross by Dragoslav Krunic set up at Liam Duffy at the far post, but the chance was wasted when his header sailed high and wide.
On the half hour, Brixworth scored what, ultimately, proved to be the winning goal, when slack marking allowed the Brixworth scorer to turn in the box and fire home.
In the second half play was pretty even although Brixworth were creating far more clear cut chances, mainly on the break as Pegasus pushed for an equalizer, and Pegasus had to thank keeper Craig McShannon for some outstanding saves.  Pegasus continued to push but could not snatch the equalizer, with John Coates completely mis-kicking their best chance.
That is now five straight defeats for Pegasus so they need to start putting some points on the board if they are not to have a nervous finish to the season that promised so much after last seasons’ successful return to the top flight.
